Friendster is going down
Friendster is very popular as a Social portal. It’s a great site if you want to connect or have a little update about your online friends, long distance friends or even relatives. I was a fan myself, an active user, etc. But these days, I noticed that friendster is acting up. It doesn’t update my bulletin board, my friend list are deleted, I can’t view some bulletins, comments problem and lot more issues. I guess they’re having some technical issue here so I do understand since I, myself own a website too. There are times that we will encounter a 400 internal error, server problems (or worst), hacked accounts.
Anyway, what I really dislike about the Friendster now are: (I will try to list it down na lang)
- Fake/Slutty friendster user – I’m a bit old na for them and I don’t know why these people keeps on adding me. It’s as if I’m interested with their steamy or naked pose. Grow up people and please don’t use friendster to post your naked bod. Hmm, or maybe I’m just insecure? No way! lols
- Bulletin Spam – gaad, why do they have to post an announcement so many times? They’re flooding my bulletin board and their post are non-sense, actually. Bulletin board are used for announcement, events or special memo and it should only be post once. I also noticed that most of their post are usually a surveys – about them, I think the friendster blog is the right place to post it, right?
- Profile Page hacks – people, why don’t you stick with the standard theme? You may add CSS but don’t hack your profile account that will result to slow loading? I want to hop from one account to another, leave some comments or maybe peek if there is something new about them but if the profile loads very slowly I will simply close down your profile and never bother visiting again. Added to this frustration are the automatically played music add-ons, think about your visitor please. You may add music on your profile but learn to change the property, manually play the audio.
Oh, so those are the things I hate about friendster, but why am I still using it? Though I really want to inactivate my friendster account, I can’t because it’s the only site where I could connect with my friends and classmates. I guess they don’t know how to use facebook yet, lols. I’m more active with facebook now but most of my friend there are my online friends and some high school friends. I hope others will discover this site and be part of it too. Lastly, I hope friendster will fix their problems too and consider those things I mentioned above especially the hack profiles.
Random Question:
- Do you have a friendster account? If you have, when did you created an account?
- Which do you prefer, friendster or facebook?
- Do you add “strangers” on your friendlist?
- What is the best social portal you have used?
